The house and garden a place known as a child. Now, only accessible from a small secret door at the back of a closet. I feel dread, not wanting to cross to the outside, dark and cold. Instead taking the impossibly high and fragile staircase leading to the attic, the roof merely a skeleton of timbers and the wind, a warning against looking beyond the dark edge of the grounds.

The backstory to this album (the Dyatlov incident in Russia in 1959) is fascinating. The music succeeds at creating a mood of mystery, but leaves the story to the listener's imagination. This album expects a lot from the listener, as long sections have wind noise and not much variation. But I keep coming back to it and listening again. It just works! mudshrimpmoe
